The Rundown: 5 Ways to Support Women Leaders

Thank you.

Thank you for being a Run Women Run supporter and believing in the power of women leadership. You understand the need to increase the number of women in political office and we are grateful for all that you do to make it happen.

When women are elected they tend to prioritize funding for health and education, champion social issues, and resolve national crises without resorting to violence.

Women demonstrate political leadership by working across party lines and women are more likely to focus on the elimination of gender-based violence, parental leave, gender-equality laws and electoral reform.

This is why today, on #GivingTuesdayNow, we would like to invite you to show gratitude to women currently running for office.

Support Women Leaders

1) Support Women Currently Running for Office

Because COVID-19 has drastically altered the nature of the political campaign season for the coming elections, female candidates running for office need our help more than ever.

Find out how you can get involved in Run Women Run and support our endorsed candidates here.

2) Volunteer

We wouldn’t be able to train women interested in running for office or support our endorsed candidates if it wasn’t for the generosity of our volunteers who donate their time, expertise, and experience to Run Women Run. Sign up to volunteer today.

3) Express Gratitude to Caregivers and Health Care Workers

Take the time to show your appreciation to the caregivers and health care workers in your life that are serving on the front lines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as women make up the majority of this essential workforce.

4) Check-in

Connect with the ones you love during this time of social distancing whether that be digitally or over the phone. If you know a fellow Run Women Run supporter or one of our endorsed candidates reach out and see how they are doing.

5) Advocate

Share on social media why you support women in politics and encourage women you know to stand up and run for office themselves. Don’t forget to tag us on InstagramFacebook, and Twitter when you do.

Don’t want to post on social media? Send us your memories and photos of past Run Women Run events or your reason for supporting women in politics and we will be happy to post them for you. Just email [email protected]
