Michelle Burton became president of Run Women Run in October 2009. She follows Barbara Bry, the founding president of Run Women Run. Michelle is managing partner of Shoecraft Burton, a civil litigation law firm. She graduated with distinction from San Diego State University and earned her law degree from California Western School of Law where she was on the national trial team. She previously chaired Run Women Run's membership committee.

Run Women Run's Endorsement Committee Chair Dr. Elaine Hanson chaired Planned Parenthood's 47th Anniversary Dinner on April 22, 2010. Planned Parenthood honored Run Women Run member Amy Corton with its Margaret Sanger Award.
Attorney Nadia Bermudez in October 2009 was sworn in as President of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association. This is a year-long term. Nadia also was named by U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) to the Southern District bipartisan advisory committee that will recommend nominees to President-elect Obama for the positions of U.S. District Court Judge, U.S. Attorney, and U.S. Marshal. The five-member committee will be responsible for carefully screening applications, interviewing applicants, and recommending finalists to Senator Feinstein.
Elyse Lowe has been named executive director of Move San Diego, which was formed in January 2004 by citizens, environmentalists, bicyclists, pedestrians and transportation experts to build broad support for sustainable transportation systems and land-use policies. Elyse spent 10 years in various positions at the City of San Diego, and most recently served as the Committee Consultant for both the Rules, Open Government and Intergovernmental Relations Committee and the Land Use and Housing Committee under Council President Pro-Tem Jim Madaffer.
Melinda Bates is the author of Clintonista, A White House Memoir, a behind-the-scenes look at life and work in White House. She ran the White House Visitors Office for all eight years of an administration. From her perch in the East Wing she organized Easter Egg Rolls, managed protocol for accepting gifts from the King of Morocco, arranged fireworks viewings, and ceremonies for visiting heads of state. Scheduling breakfast with Tom Hanks, lunch with Michael Douglas, or arranging dinners for special guests with President Bill Clinton were all in a day's work.
Esther Sanchez, Councilwoman, City of Oceanside, was appointed to the California Coastal Commission by Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles). Sanchez has served as an Oceanside City Councilmember since 2000. She has served on the Multiple Habitat Conservation Plan Planning Group and supported various other regional environmental protection efforts. Sanchez has served as an attorney in both public and private practice.
