Run Women Run will endorse candidates supported by a majority vote of the members of Run Women Run's Advisory Board. Run Women Run can endorse in local, state and federal races. Run Women Run is a statewide PAC and can only give money in statewide races and certain local and school board races.
Candidate Endorsements:
- In a race selected for endorsement, when a pro-choice candidate challenges a pro-choice incumbent, RWR will endorse the pro-choice incumbent seeking re-election if the incumbent’s voting record meets our criteria.
- Endorsements are for the current election cycle only. Previously endorsed candidates must apply for endorsement each time they run for office.
- Challengers or candidates for open seats must complete the Candidate Questionnaire and her answers must be 100% pro-choice.
- A candidate whose voting record demonstrates support for our issues will be given priority over candidates who do not have that track record.
- The candidate must be credible and have a good chance of winning.
- In very limited circumstances, and only in open seats, dual endorsements are possible where there is more than one candidate who is pro-choice based on our criteria.
- Run Women Run is non-partisan in its endorsements.
- Failing a majority vote of support or oppose, the policy position will be "No Position."
- In elections in which there are only male candidates or in which a woman candidate is anti-choice and the male candidate is pro-choice, Run Women Run will make no endorsement.
Pro Choice Criteria:
To be considered pro-choice, an incumbent or challenger must at a minimum:
- Support the terms of Roe v. Wade and oppose any attempt to overturn Roe;
